There has never been a point in my life where I can say I`ve lavished in the feeling of being high after smoking a joint. While I wasn’t going to necessarily say no upon bringing offered, it wasn’t a feeling I coveted especially as I got older. In January 2013, I was in a car accident where my right ankle shattered to the point where it took 3 surgeries to reconnect my foot to my leg. Due to the extensive break and the fact that my orthopedic surgeon had originally stated, there was an 80% chance I would never walk again, the fact that I am mobile on my own two feet, is mind-blowing.
I would have given anything to have gone back to my old lifestyle of wearing 6-inch heels to the club on weekends I had off from bartending 40 plus hours a week. But the reality for me eventually sunk in that simply being on my feet for hours at a time was painful and climbing the stairs without worrying about falling over my own two feet was not a possibility.
As a Canadian who commutes to work via public transit, I have come to terms with the fact that it not the most enjoyable of experiences even on a day where there’s no snow, rain or sleet even for someone without mobility issues. My ankle never healed properly even with years of physiotherapy and regular exercise as the damage was too extensive. I woke up in the morning stiff regardless of the time of year; getting ready for work took significantly longer as I limped around my 800 square foot condo.
The tightness subsides throughout the day as long as I teeter the fine line between sitting for too long and being as active as I can be while working in an office. Initially, I was relying heavily on taking over the counter pain killers to make daily life physically bearable but realized it was not a habit I could keep since I knew pain management would be an issue I was going to have to face for the rest of my life. At that point, I decided to do some research and explore more natural options for handling my aches and pains.
I was surprised at how many different CBD options I discovered and how positive the reviews were. I must admit I was doubtful but I decided to give it a shot and purchase Heal + CBD Oil, 1000mg. I was pleasantly surprised upon opening it and doing my initial assessment; there was no harsh smell and it came in an eye-catching bottle, conveniently containing a dropper.
The pamphlet contained detailed information about how much CBD was in each dosage whether you took an individual drop, half a dropper or a full dropper which made me feel extremely comfortable as a new user who did not want to experience the side effects of being high. I decided to take my first dose of half a dropper at home with no plans on going out for the night.
Again I was pleasantly surprised at the fact that it did not have a bitter or harsh taste rather it felt simple and organic. I placed the contents of the dropper under my tongue as recommended and sat back to relax. As the night went on, I never noticed any feeling of being high as I was initially expecting.
I eventually continued to increase my dosage to a full dropper twice a day especially considering winter was coming and that is the worst time of year for my arthritis riddled ankle. My years of walking with a limp were now having an effect on my entire frame as my knee and hip were overcompensating for the lack of movement in my ankle. In less than a month, I was noticing physical differences in both my mobility and pain levels. I was waking up in the morning with the ability to walk to the bathroom without limping as I was not stiff and cramped.
While I will never get the complete range of motion back in my ankle, I have noticed a significant decrease in pain and a boost in self-confidence which allows me to walk with more determination and faith that every step will not result in a trip and fall. For me, the effect of Heal + CBD Oil made a world of difference to my everyday life and for that, I am forever grateful.
